Local Outreach: Opportunities for Reaching Out to Those in Need in the Carey Community
- Carey Food Pantry - Wednesdays 1:30 - 4:00 P.M. (free food for those in need living in Carey school district. The Carey Food Pantry is located at 711 West Findlay Street)
- Clothing Closet - Wednesdays 1:30 - 4:00 P.M. (free clothing for those in need. The Clothing Closet is located at 711 West Findlay Street)
- Carey Christian Assistance - The First and Third Wednesdays of Month 1:30 - 3:00 P.M. (help with rent, utilities, and gasoline. Located at Memorial Evangelical Church)
- Accepting Applications for Small Home Repair for Those in Need (contact the church at 419-396-6188)
Domestic Outreach: Opportunities for Reaching Out to Those in Need in the United States
- City Mission - Findlay, Ohio (serving the dinner meal at the Christian homeless shelter)
- Henderson Settlement - Frakes, Kentucky (send supplies and mission team to help meet the basic needs of those in Appalachia)
- Bethel Pro-Life Ministries - Upper Sandusky, Ohio (participate in the Baby Bottle Boomerang to help support this organization in providing resources for mothers in need)
- Jackson Area Ministries Green Thumb Gardening Project - Jackson, Ohio (collect packets of
vegetable seeds to help needy families living in the Appalachian counties of southeast Ohio)
Global Outreach: Opportunities for Reaching Out to Those in Need Throughout the World
- Partnered with the Grace United Methodist Church to provide 2 wells for clean water for villages in Africa
- Partnered with the Grace United Methodist Church to provide bicycles for girls in dangerous foreign locations to provide a safer means of transportation to school
- Partnered with the Grace United Methodist Church to provide farm animals for up to 10 families in need around the world to enable them to feed their families and increase their income through World Vision
- Prepare shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child which is a ministry of Samaritan's Purse
- Partnered with Kay (Styer) Holmes to purchase a home for a family in Haiti through Lifeline Christian Mission
- Collect Jars of Peanut Butter for Children in Haiti
- Hosted Meal-Packing Events for people in Haiti and Ukraine through Lifeline Christian Mission
CAREY CHRISTIAN ASSISTANCE
Carey Christian Assistance (CCA) is a faith-based, non-profit organization that offers monetary assistance for persons who need temporary emergency assistance that reside in the Carey Exempted Village School District.
The organization can offer assistance through giving vouchers, they can work directly with utility companies and landlords, and offer spiritual assistance.
Representatives will meet with people in need on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the Memorial Evangelical Church. The church is located at 229 East Findlay Street in Carey.
