Once again, we will be hosting a meal packing event on Saturday, April 22nd, at 10:00 a.m. The goal is to pack 7,000 meals, which will either go to Haiti or Ukraine.  We will partner with Lifeline Christian Mission.  All are welcome to participate.
Each meal costs approximately 25 cents which includes all ingredients, bags, boxes and shipping.  If you would like to make a donation towards this mission, please put it in the offering plate and designate that it is for packing meals.
Our congregation is currently in the process of pursuing to disaffiliate from the United Methodist denomination.  Since our church was built in 1896, our founders held to the Traditional Biblical Standards.  For nearly fifty years, the United Methodist Church has experienced ever-increasing levels of conflict regarding the authority and interpretation of the Bible, as well as the doctrine and ethics of the Church.  There are increasing trends being proposed to change these standards in ways that conflict with God’s Word.
After a meeting to find out the thoughts and views of our congregation, it was found that the majority in attendance are not in step with the progressive agenda that has crept into the denomination.  This is the reason for our pursuing to disaffiliate.  It is a very lengthy process.  On Sunday, February 12th, a church conference was held to vote on whether the members wished to disaffiliate from the denomination.  A 2/3 majority vote of members present was needed for it to pass.  The results of the vote was 26 to 1 to disaffiliate.
Please know that EVERYONE is invited and always welcome to attend our services.  Our wish is that all here will stay together as a church family.  But we certainly understand if some would choose a different option.  Those other options are that you can keep your membership with the United Methodist Church. If that is your choice, please contact Susan Stombaugh, the membership secretary, so that a letter of transfer can be sent to another United Methodist Church.  You can also choose to transfer to another denomination or simply withdraw your membership.
All are encouraged to compare information explaining the Traditional Biblical Beliefs and the Moderate to Strongly Progressive Beliefs of the United Methodist Church.  Then please pray and follow your heart and listen to what the Lord is leading you to do.

CHURCH CONFERENCE

A Church Conference was held on Sunday, February 12th, at the church.  The purpose of this meeting was to vote on whether we wished to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church or remain with the denomination.  A 2/3 majority vote of the members in attendance was needed to disaffiliate.  Only church members could vote.  The results of the vote was 26 to 1 to disaffiliate from the denomination.  Please continue to pray for our church as we continue on this new path!
Jars of peanut butter are being collected for families in Haiti. 16 to 18 oz. jars are preferred. Peanut butter is a good source of protein and other vitamins and doesn’t need to be refrigerated. This makes it a good source of food. Please tape a quarter on the lid of each jar donated to help with the shipping costs. The deadline to bring in jars of peanut butter is Sunday, March 26th.
Packets of vegetable seeds are being collected for the Jackson Area Ministries’ Green Thumb Gardening Project. This ministry helps persons who have lost jobs, senior citizens, and families on low and fixed incomes living in the Appalachian counties of southeast Ohio. The deadline to bring in vegetable seeds is Sunday, April 9th.
